Royal Enfield Himalayan Scrambler Launched in Indian market, price Rs 2.03 lakh (ex-showroom)

After a long wait, Royal Enfield Scram411 has finally been launched in the Indian market at Rs 2.03 lakh (ex-showroom). It is basically a scrambler bike based on Himalayan Adventure.

Royal Enfield has therefore made significant changes to the design to make it stand out from the Adventure. The new RE Scram411 is offered in 7 color options – White Flame, Silver Spirit, Blazing Black, Skyline Blue, Graphite Red, Graphite Blue and Graphite Yellow.

RE Scram411 style and key features

The RE Scram411 is a retro styled bike, with a round headlamp and rear-view mirror. The instrument console of Royal Enfield Scram 411 comes like Meteor. But the Tripper navigation system has been offered as an accessory. The motorcycle features a fuel tank and a side-on upswept exhaust canister similar to the Himalayan.

The motorcycle gets new wider handlebars and different side panels and a new rear profile. Royal Enfield Scram 411 is fitted with a single-piece seat.

The motorcycle does not have a fender up front like the Himalayan. Instead of a luggage rack, the bike has a single piece pillion grab rail. It has halogen headlamps, LED tail-light and bulbous turn indicators.

RE Scram411 engine and suspension

The Scram411 is powered by the Himalayan-based Scrambler 411cc, single-cylinder 4-stroke, air-cooled SOHC, fuel injected engine. Hence this engine generates maximum power output of 24.3bhp at 6,500rpm and peak torque of 32Nm at 4,250rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a 5-speed gearbox.

The new RE Scram411 is based on the half-duplex split cradle frame that also underpins the Himalayan ADV. For suspension duties, the motorcycle gets 41mm telescopic front forks with 190mm of travel and a monoshock unit at the rear.

RE Scram411 Wheelbase and Tyre

The Himalayan Scram411 comes with a 19-inch front wheel with a 100/90 section tire and a 17-inch rear wheel with a 120/90 section tyre. The motorcycle has a wheelbase of 1455mm and offers 200mm of ground clearance.

In terms of proportions, the bike measures 2160mm long, 840mm wide and 1165mm high and has a seat height of 795mm. The motorcycle weighs 185kg, which is 6.5kg less than the Himalayan. It comes with a 15-litre capacity fuel tank.

RE Scram411 Breaking

As for the braking system, the new Royal Enfield Scram 411 gets a 300 mm front disc with a 2-piston floating caliber and a 240 mm rear disc with a single-piston calliper. It has dual-channel ABS as standard; However, the Himalayan has switchable ABS.
